Version includes Instance Level Monitoring (monitoring individual specific processes – i.e. – Joe’s mortgage loan process) in pBAM and the Visio Interpreter ( interpretation, import and aggregation of existing libraries of Visio process diagrams – for analysis and simulation) in the BPA suite.
Newton, Mass. – August 31st, 2005- ProActivity,
Inc., a leading provider of software solutions that enable an effective
and well monitored business process life-cycle, today announced the
general availability of version 6.1 of its BPA (Business Process
Analysis) suite and pBAM (Process Business Activity Monitoring) solution.
"Version 6.1 is a milestone release for ProActivity as it builds on our industrial
strength pBAM with leading edge features, while at the same time delivering,
in the BPA suite, what is probably the tightest integration in the market between
the process analysis environment and the large libraries of Visio process information
that reside throughout the enterprise” said Avi Fogel, Chairman & CEO, ProActivity,
Inc. “This release also enhances our message of connectivity to BPM and automation
platforms with available interfaces to BEA’s WebLogic Integration, Oracle Process
Manager, Microsoft BizTalk, Fuego’s BPM Suite and PegaSystems’ SmartBPM, including
two of the vendors’ BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) interfaces.”
These exciting changes continue to reuse and extend the power of the ProActivity
Enterprise Process Hub – a central database of all process data, delivering seamless end-to-end views, quantitative analysis and reporting as well as web views and live process monitoring.
Release Highlights
Instance Level Monitoring – The ability to track
the performance, metrics and visual flow of a specific individual
instance of a running process. Users can see clearly which activities
have been performed and which have yet to be performed. The instance
is tracked on the portal dashboard used for pBAM. For example – a
business user may be specifically interested in where in the cycle
may be John Doe’s claim (process) at the insurance company.
Multi-Site Monitoring - It is now possible to
monitor processes running on multiple WebLogic Integration servers.
A single pBAM dashboard can therefore show performance of processes
executing in different locations.
Clustering and failover - This new version provides support
for server clustering, including load-balancing and failover.
Support for Web Portal Standards - This new version provides
support the main portal standards:
- JSR-168
- WSRP (Web Services for Remote Portlets)
pBAM Simulation - Simulation is much more accurate and useful
when it is based on actual, empirical data. This version allows the
business analyst to extract simulation parameters (like activity duration,
arrival times and decision node weights) from the pBAM monitored data
Visio Interpreter - for interpretation, large-scale
import and continuous reuse of existing repositories of Microsoft
Visio process data within the enterprise
Show Externals - For any diagram you can
specify whether you want external process entities displayed. External
process entities provide you with a process context- that is, you
can see which sub-processes, processes, deliverables, or business
functions provide inputs into the displayed diagram
Swim lane by Sub-process – ProActivity’s
powerful ‘auto swim lane’ generation capability now has
a new dimension. Swim lanes can now be automatically generated for
the enterprise process flow diagram, based on a vertical axis representing
the various sub-processes that the process may be flowing through.
This shows specific handoff points between sub-processes.
Iterative PAPX Import – You now have
the ability to merge PAPX (ProActivity XML) files with data that
already exists in the Knowledge Base. If duplicate process entities
are found during the load, you can:
- Maintain the properties of the record
in the Knowledge Base
- Overwrite the Knowledge Base Properties
with the Properties of the PAPX file being
loaded, or
- Choose to merge the Properties
Technical Support Utility – A technical
support utility has been added to the ProActivity Client which automatically
collects system generated log files in the event a User encounters
an error using the software. Once collected and sent to ProActivity
Support (support@proactivityinc.com), the log files are used by the
support team to diagnose problems.
Platform Support – The ability to
support more operating systems (Solaris and
Linux) and data-base environments was added.
ProActivity’s BPA suite version 6.1 and the related modules and ProActivity
pBAM version 6.1 are generally available for immediate delivery.
